City of Darwin Lee Point Council Motion from Julie Fraser

Dear Friend,

Here is the motion being presented by Julie Fraser at the Ordinary Council Meeting this Tuesday, 28 April.

The motion calls on Council to write a letter to Federal Ministers and Members, requesting a Senate inquiry into the DHA development at Lee Point.
And a copy sent to Luke Gosling, federal member for Solomon, Senator Malindiri McCarthy, as well as the Chief Minister Lia Finochario and the NT Minister for Lands, Planning and Environment, Josh Burgoyne,

It also asks that Defence land at Berrimah be considered as an alternative site, and that clearing works at Lee Point be paused while the inquiry is undertaken.

A Senate inquiry would provide the level of scrutiny this project warrants and ensure all options are properly considered.

Kind regards,
[Your Name]
