Community Comments on the Greater Darwin Plan close at 4pm on Friday, 13 April, 2012

YOU OPPORTUNITY TO SAY WHAT YOU DO AND DO NOT LIKE ABOUT THE PROPOSAL.

On Friday 2 March, 2012, Chief Minister Henderson told TOPFM's Daryl Manzie that there no further public consultation on the Greater Darwin PLan. He said it was because he said there had already been public consultation on it for a year. However, a notice appeared in the NT News that day (2.3.2012) announcing a public consultation period of one month on adopting the Greater Darwin Plan as policy.

The Notice begins:

Greater Darwin Plan
The Minister for Lands and Planning is seeking comment on a proposal to amend the NT Planning Scheme to:

  • Include the Greater Darwin Plan as policy
  • to amend the existing Darwin Planning Principles
  • and land Use framework to reflect this policy

PERIOD OF EXHIBITION
FRIDAY 2 MARCH 2012
TO FRIDAY 30 MARCH 2012

The advert then continues by stating that the proposal can be viewed at the Planning Department's office at the corner of Cavenagh and Knuckey (closes 4pm) or on line at www.nt.gov.au./lands/planning/

Hotel.
